When the Vancouver International Children’s Festival arrives, Granville Island comes to life! With seven fantastic indoor theatre venues and a bustling arts activity village, the Kids’ Fest site becomes your family’s playground! From toddlers to tweens, there are shows and activities for everyone.
If you’re local to us, then you have heard of Granville Island, and probably have visited this magical oasis in the middle of the bustling city with kid like eyes. On it’s best day, Granville Island offers an eye-popping variety of unique shops, tasty foods and some of the most incredible shops to grab educational toys and top quality clothing for kids. You’ll have the chance to not only experience all Granville Island has to offer, but also all the Vancouver International Children’s Festival brings with, returning May 25-31 this year!
The Vancouver International Children’s Festival is the first of it’s kind in North America. Having started as a theatre and music festival for young audiences (and their adult chaperons alike), it has grown into a multi-disciplinary festival featuring theatre, music, dance, circus, puppetry and storytelling. It is an inspiration to major cities throughout Canada and abroad, where annual children’s festivals now flourish. If you have a creative child, one who loves music, or to dance or just being silly, this is where you’ll want to be!
Come down and check out some featured performers including: Michel Lauziere, The Good Day Sunshine Band, Will Stroet & The Backyard Band, and much more! Your festival pass includes access to the activity village where kids can enjoy testing their circus Skills, fun Face painting, a challenging Musical Maze, an interactive Musical Playground, some fun Bicycle Spin-Art, String Games, Origami , Twist & Toddle, a Wishing Tree and a lot more!
