🎄 #CroodsNewAge is on demand December 18th and we've teamed up with @universalpicturescanada to Giftaway a CROOD-tastic prize including a digital download to watch the movie at home. It's a holiday event for the entire family! 🎄

Searching for a safer habitat, the prehistoric Crood family discovers an idyllic, walled-in paradise that meets all of its needs. Unfortunately, they must also learn to live with the Bettermans -- a family that's a couple of steps above the Croods on the evolutionary ladder. As tensions between the new neighbors start to rise, a new threat soon propels both clans on an epic adventure that forces them to embrace their differences, draw strength from one another, and survive together.

I think we could all use some good laughs right now and The Croods: A New Age delivers just that, I am pretty sure A cackled her way through at least half a dozen scenes. And... AND... there is SLOTHS. I won't ruin it for you, but they are some of my faves in the entire movie. Our family loved the continuation of the original Croods story and can't wait to share it with you!

One of the events that made it feel like Christmas to our family was the Vancouver Christmas Market and when they announced their closure, my Christmas spirit took a bit of a hard hit. Thankfully, they found a way to pivot to still help you bring some of the market magic home.

Carefully curated boxes full of Canadian-made goodies you'd usually find in the vendor huts are now available for you to bring home! Beautifully wrapped and packed with care, they are the perfect gift for teachers, family, or friends - or even yourself!

It also wouldn't be the Vancouver Christmas Market without the 2020 cup... complete with the mask-wearing mascots! A was quick to ask for hot chocolate in hers as we settled in to listen to the Sounds of the Vancouver Christmas Market playlist on Spotify. It may be the first year we've "missed", but it gave us time to remember all our favourite memories there.

Boxes can be purchased online and be picked up at Jack Pool Plaza until Christmas Eve, or local delivery within the Lower Mainland is available.

I went through boxes of old kids clothes, blankets I’ve hoarded over the years, pillow cases from 47 sheet sets we never use and many small kitchen items that were taking up valuable space in my tiny cupboard. Bags and bags of things, ready to be diverted from the landfill!

All in anticipation for the @diabetescanada touchless curb-side dropoff for your gently used clothing & textiles. November is National Diabetes Awareness Month and every donation helps fund Diabetes research and D-camps for kids and their families. It also gives over 11 MILLION Canadians access to resources and support for their diabetes.

Want to help the cause? Package up your clothes and textiles in plastic bags or closed boxes and visit @realcanadiansuperstore Delta location at 8195-120th St on November 14th from 9:00am-2:00pm. Volunteers will be on location wearing masks to safely remove items from your vehicle.

Regardless of how you feel about the election results.... remember this moment. This moment where young girls everywhere heard of the first Woman ever to hold the Vice-Presidency.

I told A this morning and her face, I could see the little gears moving in her brain. She beamed, grabbed her iPad and went to call her friend. Her first words? “The first woman!”

Our girls around the world are watching, dreaming, imagining and setting those incredible goals right now knowing they are attainable. Raise them up to believe anything is possible.

We've been die-hard fans of @flyovercanadavancouver for years and have experienced almost every show they've released so far. We were super excited to hear that their newest show was created with the help of some previous Walt Disney Company Imagineers and knew it was going to be epic. We weren't disappointed, in fact each kid in our group exclaimed how this was *the best!* FlyOver Canada show they'd seen YET!

Had a wonderful catch up after months and months apart with my good friend @maryinvancity today, I’ve done a pretty good job maintaining some normalcy or so I thought, it wasn’t until we started talking that I realized how much I missed these connections.

𝐈 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬. I looked through so many photos of when my heart was hurting, when my brain wouldn't shut off, when I was struggling so horribly with my anxiety that every simple thing was hard and almost all of them are of me smiling. I was embodiying the "fake it until you make it". Until I couldn't fake it anymore.

It wasn't until recently when I brought up all these thoughts to my doctor that she ran an in office test, the results were staggering and she outright asked me - "How have you been coping this long without help?" and honestly. 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰. I thought this was normal? Aren't we all overwhelmed? Doesn't every cry in their car? Don't other people talk themselves out of going places because of fear?

In any given year, 1 in 5 people in Canada will personally experience a mental health problem or illness. Anxiety disorders affect 5% of the household population. Women also are twice as likely to be diagnosed with an anxiety disorder.

Today, and everyday I want to remind you that it is 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲. It's okay to process those emotions in a way that feels safe to you and celebrate every win, regardless of how tiny it may seem now. Each new day we survive our toughest days. For me, self care is paramount. Being aware of when I need to check-in with myself and not allow myself to be busied by life and my own bucket being depleated.

I'm sharing my story with you in partnership with some amazing ladies (swipe to see them) who are also sharing their own journey with mental health. You are not alone. You are so loved, worthy and important.
