Hello, hi! It's been awhile since I said hello.

I'm slowly coming back to Instagram, but if I'm to be honest, summer felt like it slipped away from me and I have been focusing on my mental health, my family and personal things behind the scenes.

Did you know I'm a one woman show? All the content I create across all platforms, all the comments and moderating, all the shout outs and pretty photos. All me. I take the brunt of the mean comments, the arguing, and I do it while trying to stay positive. It's HARD y'all. So very hard.

Combined with my anxiety disorder, it hit me hard. It can get to feel a bit overwhelming, and a lot of us have a burn out period.

I'm slowly crawling out of mine.

I realized that I am at my best when I surround myself in content that I love and that fills my heart. That means focusing more of my energy to sustainable living content, supporting local and sharing our favourite local events and activities.

I'm opening up collaboration submissions for the holidays, if you know anyone who fits the above and would love to work together, tell them to come say hi (or say hi yourself!) - let's create some joyful magic together that fills both our hearts. Best part of a vacation? Testing the beds apparently.

We stayed at @prestigeresorts Beach House in downtown Kelowna, a literal hop, skip and a jump from Okanagan Lake. Our room was spacious enough for each of us to have our own space, plenty of storage for all the stuff I overpacked, a fridge and a microwave so we packed our fave snacks and hit up local farm/veggie stands for room snacks!

Our first night we went for a walk in Kelowna City Park to plan our lake day. The park boasts a @splashbcwaterparks inflatable obstacle course, the coolest splash park with a mini water slide, a huge playground, lots of green space, food trucks and beautiful sandy beaches.

Our hotel was literally across the street, so we loaded up the Costco wagon with chairs, shade tent and a cooler and spent the whole 38 degree day on the water. It was glorious!

Did you know you can visit & feed the sweet kangar

Did you know you can visit & feed the sweet kangaroos and wallabies at @kangaroocreekfarmkelowna? Our friends had gone 2 weeks prior and I decided we were going to see them before summer was over! If we did *anything* on that trip, it was meeting these sweet babies. We drove for 4.5 hours straight to the farm and I regret *nothing*.

Things to know for your trip:
🦘 Arrive early, the closer to 10am the better. The farm is quieter, it isn't as hot and the animals are more eager for their snackie snacks and are more active.
🦘 Dress for the farm. This is a working farm so be prepared with comfortable shoes and clothes you can get a bit dirty in (trust me.. you may want to get down low for some pets!)
🦘 The sprinklers are the perfect way to cool down. Watch out for them or you may end up a little wet.
🦘 Don't feed the animals anything that isn't provided to you by handlers.
🦘 The farm closes promptly at 3pm for nap time, plan accordingly! If you want time to see everything, give yourself at minimum a couple of hours
🦘 If you look closely at the kangaroos you may spy some joey's in pouches! Some really big, and some really small.
🦘 ALL of the farm closes at 3pm, tills start closing 15 minutes before. If you want a souvenir or snack/drink for the road, make sure to grab it early.

Nothing says vacation quite like a 6am wake up, am

Nothing says vacation quite like a 6am wake up, amiright? We're early risers, wanting to get the absolute most out of our time in our destination. I heard a little voice in the back of my head telling me to take the vacation last week so we did. Last minute booked a stay in Kelowna and cancelled everything (including work!) and away we went!

We've been on a lot of adventures this year in the @mazdacanada CX5 but this has to be my favourite one so far. You know it's a good ride when the kid passes out in the backseat almost immediately (don't worry, we fixed her seatbelt!) each time she got into the car. It has hands down been the most comfortable highway ride yet, and it didn't feel like I had been sitting for 4.5 hours, thank goodness! One gas stop the whole trip, with Okanagan gas prices.... 🚗

Can you guess where my first stop in Kelowna was? I'll give you a hint.... 🦘

Created in partnership with @yourbcparks and local Indigenous communities, this majestic display of our most wonderful mountains is sure to leave you absolutely breathless. Weaving together tradition, Indigenous story telling and videography, Windborne gives flyers a birds eye view of some of our most picturesque, and untouched areas of the Canadian Rockies. And spoiler alert? It's stunning.
