Did you know that the past couple of years have se

Did you know that the past couple of years have seen the most demand in terms of families needing support? Between @foodbanksbc, @surreychristmas & @lmcbureau they are seeing so many families needing help. If you know me, you know that my heart is always focused on giving, and I absolutely can't handle kids not having Christmas.

Liv and I raided our gift closet this week to gather up anything that we could let go to help make another childs Christmas. I generally stock the closet with items I find on clearance throughout the year, or extra products brands send us (we so appreciate you!) and stash them away for donations and gifts. So thankful this year that we were able to donate a big pile of cool science and STEM gifts, lots of books, and some fun board games.

I grew up very poor, and we depended heavily on Food Banks, Christmas hampers, and the kindness of others. It isn't lost on me the privilege I have to be in a position to give back and I am so thankful for it.

This is such a busy time of year for so many, and the season of giving can be quickly lost in the hustle and bustle, if you see a moment to give back and are able, please join me in paying it forward.

Do acres and acres of beautiful Christmas lights b

Do acres and acres of beautiful Christmas lights bring you endless joy? What if it’s mixed with a little punk rock Disney Christmas jams, good food, and beautiful scenery? You won’t want to miss the @vandusengarden Festival Of Lights running now until January 2, 2023. Millions of lights span across 15 acres of beautiful garden space including the must-see Dancing Lights on Livingstone Lake. I stopped 3 times to watch it!

Dress warm and wander the grounds to discover the Laburnum Walk, Rose Garden, Japanese Maples, and other beloved garden highlights that are embellished for the holiday season. Enjoy sweet and savoury snacks throughout the grounds from food vendors, or grab a hot chocolate/warm drink on your way in at the Cafe to warm up.

We were so lucky to get to experience the beautiful setup while there was still snow on the ground, and lightly resting atop many of the bushes and lights, illuminating the areas with a soft, seasonal glow. It was stunning.

Highly recommend popping into the gift shop before you leave for locally-made items, great stocking stuffers, and lots of beautiful ornaments to choose from.

VanDusen is beautiful any time of the year, but my Christmas-loving heart might find it a *smidge* more stunning during the holidays.

Have you been this year? Tickets must be purchased in advance, and it is recommended to come a bit early as you may need to park offsite (lots of street parking!). We hope you’ll make it to see the lights!

Canyon Lights is BACK! //
One of my absolute favourite holiday spots is open once again to dazzle and leave you breathless. @capilanosuspensionbridge Canyon Lights is open now until Sunday, January 22nd, 2023 visitors can visit the world-famous bridge that is illuminated from end to end, casting a beautiful glow upon the Capilano river below. Journey into a magical glowing rainforest and gain a new perspective high above the forest floor on Treetops Adventure, twinkling from treetop to forest floor. Last, but certainly not least, and A’s absolute favourite, find your way along Cliffwalk and its “Arc de Lumina” light tunnel! The best spot for Insta-worthy photos, and a delightful walk for families.

Visit times must be pre-booked in advance, even for pass holders, and don’t forget BC residents that your one-day pass is valid for an entire year! If you time it right.. You can enjoy Canyon Lights and much more for an entire year from your visit. Don’t forget that partial admission proceeds benefit the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund which offers fire and burn education in schools around BC. Canyon Lights also works closely with local charities to host 12 days of Christmas, sharing passes with many local charities.

Is Canyon Lights a tradition in your home? We go every year, and every year I continue to be wow’ed beyond words. It truly kick-starts the holidays for me!

We had the most magical time at @disneyonice, the Moana Wayfinder experience was sweet and a great start to the evening with a little snack, craft and some one on one time with a couple fave Disney friends.

The show? As always, incredible! You can expect to see so many fan favourites and incredible, jaw dropping talent on the ice. We may have gasped more than once at some of the acrobatics! The Road Trip Adventures show takes fans on a journey through some of our favourite iconic disney locations, including London with Mary Poppins, Motunui with Moana and Maui, and much more.

Tips for the show:
ºoº arrive early if you’re wanting food/souvenirs as the lines can get long
ºoº glow sticks are a must!
ºoº dress up, looking at the adults too!
ºoº you can bring in snacks/drinks, but @tripleosrestaurant is open as well, as well as lots of other food options
ºoº come prepared to dance!

The show is only here until November 27th so if you’re hoping to catch the magic make sure to grab your tickets asap!
