There’s still a bit of summer left and if you’

There’s still a bit of summer left and if you’re looking for a must-do experience to end summer you definitely need to check out the @cypressmtn Eagle Coaster! Cypress has been our second home many winters for skiing/snowboarding and snowshoeing, but the Eagle Coaster may very well be my new favourite.

Enjoy a scenic chair lift ride up to the top of the mountain and hop in the mini coaster to soar down the mountain at up to 40km an hour! We recommend grabbing an early time slot so you have time to enjoy the ride at your own pace and without a big line. An early spot also means you’re likely to see some wildlife on the ride up, we had a heron visit, lots of deer and many eagles. It was stunning! We also definitely recommend purchasing the 2 ride pass, once you’ve tried it for the first time you’ll be eager to try it again, but faster!

👉🏻 Things to know //
- Tickets must be pre-booked online
- The course is 1.7kms long, depending on your speed it’s about 5-10 minutes.
- You can speed up to 40kms an hour, just be sure to leave space between you and other carts.
- Kids 8 years or older and 4’1” or taller can ride alone and they will likely abandon you at top speeds (speaking from experience)
- There are no washrooms at the top of the chairlift, so make your potty stops before hopping on!
- The 2 ride pass must be used back to back, make sure you head right back up to the chairlift to ensure your ticket doesn’t expire.
My kid is already asking to go back, we might squeeze in one more trip before back to school!

this is 41.

I celebrated my birthday quietly, relishing family time and quiet peace. If you had told me 10 years ago that I’d finally understand that everything I feel is valid, that my weird quirks made me uniquely me and that I’d lean into that weird, I’d have scoffed.

These past few years have seen the universe put people in my path that have affirmed my weird, that have made me feel at peace, loved and safe being authentically me.

It isn’t lost on me how fortunate I am. I am so thankful for every single year.

Hoping this year also brings you peace and love. ♥️

It's supposed to be full on summer next week with beautiful high temps and sunshine! [ad] If you're looking for a way to beat the heat, we can't recommend hopping down to Confederation Park in North Burnaby for #SummerStages more.

Located centrally in North Burnaby, Confederation Park has a wide grassy area with picnic spots, live music running Tuesday-Friday, a big splash park and playground, running track and so much more. Lots of shade, lots of ways to cool down and enjoy live arts and music performances while you're there!

Next week's lineup is sure to be fun with musical experiences and ventroloquist's performing, and August 22-25 you can pop down for magician shows, puppet theatre, music and dance, comedy theatre and much more. If you, or your family love experiencing arts and music, you'll love this just as much as we did! Pack a picnic, bring a blanket or chair and settle in for the afternoon from 12-2 daily Tuesday-Friday until August 25th.
